From Pain to Relief: How Acupuncture May Help Vulvodynia

If there's one thing I'm confident about treating in my 20 years clinical experience, it's vulvodynia.
In my clinic, everyday I treat back pain, elbow and neck pain, anxiety, ADHD and vulvodynia - lot's of it. Why do I see so many patients with vulvodynia? Unfortunately it's a common problem, and I guess the word went around.
I saw my first patient 15 years ago. I had no intention of treating vulvodynia, I didn't even know what it was.
So 15 years ago, a 19 year old girl came in and told me all about her condition, which she had for 4 weeks. As usual, not to any one's fault, the only options were Endep, numbing cream and wearing loose clothing.
She had heard of the oxylate diet - tried that, didn't work. Tried canesten, that made it worse. She was too young to try estrogen cream, and would be a disaster for her if she tried it.
So, we tried acupuncture, and amazingly, after 3 sessions the pain was gone.
Now, I wish every patient was like that, but that's just not true.
Since that patient, I have treated over 100 women for vulvodynia and vaginismus, and I'd say clinically, my results have been 60% effective in the first 12 years, and 80-90% effective the last 3 years. That, just comes down to trial/error and experience.
If you are interested to see what acupuncture can offer you to treat your vulvodynia, please send me a message.
Just to let you know, there are usually only 5-6 needles used, very fine, very clean and safe and never anywhere near your groin, only arms and legs.
I look forward to helping you live pain free.
